Programme 2009

Spinato intorno

Spinato intorno offers a panorama of Italian Trecento, starting with a one-part ballata from Codex Rossi and ending with the "flower-trilogy" of Antonio Zacara da Teramo. The madrigals and ballatas are complemented by diminutions and instrumental pieces by the performers and from Codex Faenza.

Performed by

Kristin Mulders (mezzo soprano)
Jostein Gundersen (recorders)
David Catalunya (clavisimbalom)
Hans Lub (fiddle)

L´alba novella

L´alba novella is a programme with Italian repertory from the 16th century. Centring around madrigals and frottole by composers Arcadelt, De Ponte, Tromboncino, Cipriano, and Monteverdi, the programme shows a broad spectre of Italian late renaissance music, from simple homophonic settings of verse to the Flemish-imported polyphonic weaves of the madrigalists.

Performed by

Kristin Mulders (mezzo soprano)
Jostein Gundersen (recorders)
Mikko Perkola (viola da gamba)
Ingrid Eriksen Hagen (harpsichord/organ positif)

Restoration work

Restoration work brings together wonderful three-part compositions of Jenkins and Locke with divisions on grounds by Baltzar and Simpson, adapted and extended by the performers.

Performed by

Jostein Gundersen (recorders)
Stefan Lindvall (baroque violin)
Mikko Perkola (viola da gamba)
Hans Knut Sveen (harpsichord)
